Laura Stapleton has more than 30 years of experience as a tax lawyer. Laura focuses her practice on the tax aspects of a variety of complex domestic and cross-border transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, financings, and the formation and operation of limited liability companies and other pass-through entities.

Laura advises technology companies at all stages of growth in the acquisition and disposition of businesses, and tax planning with regard to the choice of entity that best suits the particular client’s needs and business objectives, including partnerships, limited liability companies, series limited liability companies, and corporations. She also advises clients with executive compensation and QSBS matters, and the organization and operation of venture capital funds.

Laura’s practice includes advising businesses in the blockchain ecosystem on issues related to cryptocurrencies and digital tokens, nonfungible tokens (NFTs), decentralized finance (DeFi), providers of distributed applications (DAPPs), and other blockchain-based distributed applications.

Laura is a Certified Public Accountant in Texas.
