Tuesday, May 7, 2024 — Karissa Wallace has joined GwC’s emerging company and venture capital teams as an attorney and advisor. Formerly with Detroit Venture Partners (DVP), where she served as in-house counsel to the fund, Karissa’s transition marks her return to private practice.
Karissa is a seasoned venture capital attorney who represents venture capital funds in investment transactions and strategic partnerships. Her practice spans all stages of investment, including lead and follow-on investments, exits, and wind-downs. She counsels clients through direct investments in startups and investments in venture-backed funds.

Karissa graduated from Michigan State University—Eli Broad College of Business (M.B.A.), Wayne State University (J.D.), and the University of Michigan (B.A.). She is a frequent speaker on attorney burnout and well-being and lives in Detroit with her husband, Nathaniel Wallace.
