Monday, May 13, 2024 — GwC bolsters its tax capabilities with the arrival of Laura L. Stapleton. Laura is based in Dallas and joins GwC from an AM 200 law firm, where she was a partner.
“Laura’s deep knowledge of tax strengthens GwC capabilities for established and emerging venture capital funds and innovative startups looking to navigate complex tax matters such as pass-through taxation, acquisitions, dispositions, equity compensation, QSBS, cryptocurrencies, and a variety of other tax issues,” said Terrence Reeves. “After leveraging Laura as an external resource for more than two years, we are excited to collaborate more deeply. With a focus on domestic and cross-border transactions, Laura advises technology companies at all stages of growth in the acquisition and disposition of businesses, and tax planning, including partnerships, limited liability companies, series limited liability companies, and corporations. She also advises investor clients on the organization and operation of venture capital funds.
Laura is a graduate of Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business (B.B.A) and Dedman School of Law (J.D.), New York University (L.L.M in Taxation), and Baylor University (M.Tax). Laura Stapleton is a Certified Public Accountant.
